القنصل الإسباني ومعهد أريج يزوران جمعية السموع التعاونية الزراعية ويطّلعان على مشاريع الاقتصاد الدائري والشراكة التنموية

استقبل رئيس بلدية السموع ورئيس جمعية السموع التعاونية الزراعية، السيد إبراهيم الرواشدة، إلى جانب الهيئة الإدارية للجمعية وممثلين عن الائتلاف الزراعي المحلي، القنصل العام الإسباني لدى فلسطين، السيد خافيير غوتيريز. يرافقه وفد من الوكالة الإسبانية للتعاون الدولي ضم السيد فينتورا رودريغيز، رئيس التعاون، والسيد خيسوس تومي، مدير البرامج الأول، إلى جانب وفد من معهد أريج ضم المدير العام د. جاد إسحق، ونائب المدير العام م. نادر هريمات، والسيد إياد خليفة، والمهندس رجائي أبو كرش، والانسة مارغريتا خاروفه.

وحضر اللقاء كل من السيد محمد الرواشدة، مدير هيئة العمل التعاوني في محافظة الخليل، والمهندس حماد أبو عواد والمهندسة قمر الحوامدة من مكتب زراعة السموع، بالإضافة إلى ممثلين عن الجمعيات التعاونية في الائتلاف الزراعي: السيد شفيق أبو حماد وعمران الخطيب عن جمعية إنماء الثروة الحيوانية، والسيد عقيلان أبو عقيل عن جمعية السيميا التعاونية الزراعية.

شملت الجولة الميدانية زيارة مشتل الجمعية ونقاط بيع الأشتال والأشجار المثمرة، والذي يأتي ضمن برنامج العدالة البيئية والمناخية في فلسطين (ECJP)، بإشراف وتنفيذ مركز أبحاث الأراضي وبالتعاون مع جمعية السموع التعاونية الزراعية. كما زار الوفد مشروع السماد العضوي (الكومبوست) المدعوم من مرفق البيئة العالمي – برنامج المنح الصغيرة (GEF/SGP) التابع لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي (UNDP)، بالإضافة إلى مقر الجمعية.

واطلع الوفد على عرض تعريفي حول نشاطات الجمعية في مجال الاقتصاد الدائري، وتحويل النفايات إلى سماد عضوي في وحدة انتاج الذبال العضوي التابعة للجمعية، ومبادرات دعم المزارعين وتعزيز الإنتاج المحلي.

وفي ختام الزيارة، سلّم رئيس البلدية السيد إبراهيم الرواشدة، نيابةً عن الائتلاف الزراعي المحلي، خطة شاملة للقنصل الإسباني تهدف إلى تطوير واقع الجمعيات التعاونية والقطاع الزراعي في بلدة السموع، مؤكداً أهمية تعزيز الشراكة المتكاملة بين المؤسسات المحلية والدولية.

من جانبه، عبّر القنصل الإسباني عن تقديره لهذه الجهود المجتمعية والمبادرات التنموية، مؤكداً التزام بلاده بدعم مشاريع الزراعة المستدامة. كما شدد مدير عام معهد أريج على أهمية تكامل الأدوار بين جميع الجهات لضمان استدامة التنمية الزراعية، وكذلك أكد على دور وأثر تمويل المبادرات الاقتصادية وذات العلاقة بالاقتصاد الدائري والاخضر، واكد على الدور الذي تقوم به الحكومة الاسبانية في دعم القضية الفلسطينية وكذلك دعم الشعب الفلسطيني من خلال تمويل المشاريع التنموية والريادية للجمعيات والمؤسسات والافراد. وضمن البرنامج المدعوم من قبل التعاون الاسباني سيسعى معهد أريج وبالشراكة مع جمعية السموع إلى المساهمة في تطوير وحدة انتاج الدبال العضوية التابعة للجمعية.

The Spanish Consul and ARIJ Visit the As Samou’ Agricultural Cooperative to Explore Circular Economy Initiatives and Development Partnerships

The Mayor of As Samou’ and Chairman of the As Samou’ Agricultural Cooperative, Mr. Ibrahim Rawashdi, along with the cooperative’s board and representatives from the local agricultural coalition, welcomed the Spanish Consul General to Palestine, Mr. Javier Gutiérrez, during an official field visit. He was accompanied by a delegation from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), including Mr. Ventura Rodríguez, Head of Cooperation, and Mr. Jesús Tomé, Senior Programme Manager.

Also in attendance was a delegation from the Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ), led by Director General Dr. Jad Isaac, Deputy Director General Eng. Nader Hrimat, Mr. Eyad Khalifa, Eng. Rajae Abu Karsh, and Ms. Margarita Kharoufeh.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Mohammad Rawashdi, Director of the Cooperative Work Authority in Hebron Governorate, Eng. Hammad Abu Awad, and Eng. Qamar Al-Hawamdeh from the As Samou’ Agriculture Office, in addition to representatives of cooperative associations within the local agricultural coalition: Mr. Shafiq Abu Hammad and Mr. Omran Al-Khatib from the Livestock Development Association, and Mr. Aqilan Abu Aqil from the As Simia Agricultural Cooperative.

The field visit included a tour of the cooperative’s nursery and its fruit tree and seedling sales point, which is part of the Environmental and Climate Justice Programme in Palestine (ECJP), implemented by the Land Research Center in cooperation with the As Samou’ Agricultural Cooperative. The delegation also visited the organic compost (composting) project, supported by the Global Environment Facility – Small Grants Programme (GEF/SGP) under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), as well as the cooperative’s main headquarters.

During the visit, the delegation received a detailed presentation on the cooperative’s activities in circular economy practices, including organic compost production from agricultural waste, initiatives to support farmers, and efforts to enhance local production and sustainability.

At the conclusion of the visit, Mr. Ibrahim Rawashdi, on behalf of the local agricultural coalition, presented a comprehensive development plan to the Spanish Consul. The plan aims to improve the role of cooperatives and strengthen the agricultural sector in As Samou’, emphasizing the importance of building robust partnerships between local and international institutions.

The Spanish Consul expressed his appreciation for the community’s efforts and grassroots development initiatives, reaffirming Spain’s commitment to supporting sustainable agriculture projects in Palestine. Dr. Jad Isaac, ARIJ’s Director General, emphasized the need for coordinated efforts across all stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of agricultural development. He also highlighted the significance of financing green and circular economy initiatives and acknowledged the Government of Spain’s continued support for the Palestinian cause and people through funding developmental and entrepreneurial projects.

As part of the Spanish Cooperation-supported program, ARIJ, in partnership with the As Samou’ Agricultural Cooperative, will work toward the further development of the cooperative’s organic compost production unit, reinforcing local green solutions for agriculture.
